4th May 2008: Some bad news that the recordings we made before Christmas have been lost. Luckily we are regrouping to re-record what was lost and maybe some more stuff at the beginning of June. Plans for a gig are up in the air, gigs will probably have to wait for a while but with any luck we might have a CD done and pressed by the time our next gig happens so be patient!
12th December 2007: As an early Christmas present you can download another live show by the band on the music page. The show recorded at The Hub was our second ever show (and our first as a four piece, the previous show was just the two Johns, both on guitars) and this recording has been thought to have been lost. Our friend Jake (who has done live sound for us since) recorded the show as a multitrack session, the files were given to our other friend Jay for mixing. This is the point where things went awry. Jay was in the middle of moving to the US to persue his dreams and his family was also returning to the US around the same time. Much hassle with that lead to him being unable to mix the files (understandably) and with our conflicting timetables, we never got the raw files from him. However, the DVD-R with the raw recordings was located in the shop in Dublin Airport and the files have now been given a very rough mix by John Kealy. Good things come to those who wait.
25th November 2007: Some news regarding our music. We are currently in hibernation so there will be no live shows for the foreseeable future. To make up for this, we intend to go into the studio during December and make some decent recordings of three of our better works. Depending on the results of this session, an EP may be released sometime in the new year.
30th September 2007: Major site update, now with more than one page! An archive of our previous gigs and upcoming gigs on the gigs page, some mp3s to download on the music page, this is the main page, a message board and a single link on the links page (more to follow). Enjoy!
29th September 2007: Recordings! We have made a recording of our recent gig at the King Kong Club. Direct from the sound board, the songs don't sound quite like a million dollars but nonetheless, they are something to listen to while we work on doing a proper studio recording (which is in the pipeline). The three songs are currently available as streaming mp3s on our myspace page and following a vote by the band, they may be available as downloads from here and there. In other news, we may be playing another gig sooner than we thought. As we won our night at the King Kong Club, we get to play again. When that is, I'm not sure as recording commitments, travelling commitments and commitments to not living in Dublin may scupper our plans. Perhaps a three piece appearance (i.e. without John G.) Another gig in December is rumoured which will feature the complete Fury of Tim but this idea is still in its infancy. Like an infant. Keep checking here for updates.
23rd September 2007: Short notice announcement of a live show! We are playing at the King Kong Club in Pravda on the 26th Sepetember this Wednesday). This will be our final show for some time as Mr. Guiney will be in London for the next year (see news item for the 19th of August, below). The evening kicks off from 8pm and is at the very reasonable price of gratis (that's "free" to you). We have only a short set (about half an hour at a guess) but it will be a chance to wish our John G. a fond farewell. Hope to see you there!
19th August 2007: Congratulations to John Guiney who will be moving to London in September to persue a masters in zoology. Hopefully this means there will be Fury of Tim gigs in Londing, at the very least we will arrange to play gigs whenever he's home.
3rd August 2007: Thank you to all for coming out to see us at the Boom Boom Room. Thank you to The Hollows and Last Chance for a Slow Dance and to everyone with helpful comments. "That first band were crap! They didn't even have a singer..." - Lorna, thank you for your infinite wisdom Lorna, whoever you are.
8th July 2007: Come see us and Last Chance for a Slow Dance supporting The Hollows at the Boom Boom Room on August 1st. Show kicks off at 8pm and it's €4 entry for DURNS members/flyer wielders, €6 for the rest of you. Deadly.
